America, the Beautiful

cardigan: American Apparel, top: UO, jeans: Club Monaco

shoes: DSW

I look rather patriotic today, although not on purpose. I like the classic color combo of red white and blue. To be honest I'm not so thrilled with the country at the moment. It is completely unconstitutional to continue to ignore the marital rights of homosexual couples. I'm so glad I'll be moving to Massachusetts next fall, to a state that supports equal rights for all of its citizens.

Otherwise today was good. There wasn't much to do in the office so I spent a lot of time online or reading. Productive. I also wore heels, which I haven't done in a very long time. I forgot how painful they were but they looked too cute with my brand new white jeans! Oh well, at least I sit behind a desk most of the day...

You look so pretty - and even if the heels killed your feet, they really do make the outfit. It sucks they were painful though, but seriously, so, so freaking cute.

Between the war, and the conflict of gay rights/marriage, I found it a little hard to be patriotic too. Glad I'm not the only one :)
Love your blog, my dear. I'm looking forward to reading more!

It's quite an accomplishment to wear red, white, and blue without looking like an American flag. I'd say you succeeded. :)

And GREAT white pants--I really like the brown heels you've got with them! :)

oh white pants! im always looking for some that fit me !
im a little er bit bigger in the hip area than i'd like! so they are always a little too snug!! and since WHITE makes me look even bigger its not that great of a combination!!!
but you look adorable in your red white and blue!

Those white jeans look great on you. I don't think I could ever pull of white jeans, but you look fabulous.
(Don't worry, England's not that much better at the moment. Our Parliament members have been using tax money for personal gain.)

Great color use in your outfit. It is very sad that most states won't support gay rights. That's great that you'll be moving to Massachusetts. I live in the South and the conservatism of rights is almost ridiculous.

I really like your outfit! I agree completely about the problems in our country right now ... I'm so thankful to live in a state that supports equality (Massachusetts). It makes me feel like we're one step ahead from the rest of our country.

Love the white jeans with your shoes!
And I hear you- I was livid this morning driving to work listening to supporters of Prop 8 on the radio. The level of people's bigotry really disgusts me at times. I just keep reminding myself that in 10-15 yrs. we'll look back and say "can you believe that gay couples couldn't marry?!"
